No Royal Farms! Gas Station
at 5901 Harford Road
On March 14, 2024, the Board of Municipal & Zoning Appeals (BMZA) held its second hearing concerning the proposed construction of a Royal Farms gas station at 5901 Harford Rd. Like the February 6th hearing, testimony was given by local residents and community representatives as well as employees and consultants representing Royal Farms. A statement was presented by a Dept. of Transportation official in opposition to the station, citing increased likelihood of danger due to the complexity and high pedestrian usage of the Harford Rd - Glenmore Avenue intersection. A decision on zoning is expected in May.
No Royal Farms! Legal Campaign:
Donate to John Murphy
In 2012, Royal Farms proposed to build a highway-sized gas station at the intersection of Harford Road and Glenmore Avenue. The "NoRoFo" Movement was born when residents desiring traffic safety and a walkable community overwhelmingly opposed the gas station's conditional-use zoning. For 10 years Atty John Murphy has represented the neighborhoods of the greater Hamilton area, as this case has gone back and forth through the courts.
WNIA is fundraising for Atty Murphy.
